About Our Product
Cropping
We will artistically crop your image so it works with the proportions of the canvas size you’ve selected. Sometimes the image you send us just won’t work in the finished size you selected. If that’s the case we’ll call you with an alternative solution. If you choose, we can crop and reproduce only a portion of your photo. Please give us an accurate description of the intended cropping in the comments section of the order form.
PhotoRealistic™ Style
Starting with your original photo or digital picture, our artists manipulate the image to enhance color and to bring out certain nuances. We clean up minor dust and scratches and optimize for rendering onto canvas.
Light BrushStroke™ Style
We follow the same process as photorealistic, then, using a specialized tablet and stylus we add brushstrokes by hand to give the look and feel of a traditional painting. It’s difficult to really see the quality on a website, all we can tell you is that our customers are thrilled with the products they receive.

Convert to Black & White / Sepia - additional Charge $15
Black & White and Sepia (antique brown) images look awesome on stretched canvas. Many of our customers prefer this timeless look over color. The good news is that we can convert your color photo to either of these techniques. Click here for examples.
Photo Restoration – additional charge $79
If you ask 10 people if they could take only one possession from their home, chances are they’d say, “the box of family photos”. Often, these irreplaceable keepsakes have been damaged, with creases, tears, scratches, torn corners, fading and the like. We can restore those images, then, masterfully reproduce them on canvas. Click here for examples.
Photo Collage – additional charge $39 plus $9 per photo
Our artists love creating collages! We’ll take multiple images and combine them for a one of a kind canvas that tell a family story. Click here to learn more about all of the collage choices.
Canvas
Made from the highest quality fabric, our heavyweight artist canvas is ideal for photo- graphic and fine art reproductions.
Longevity
Our canvases are all treated with a UV inhibiting coat, that protects the canvas from fading. The canvas coating combination is rated to last for over 100 years.
Gallery Wrapping
The term "gallery wrapped" refers to the way the canvas is stretched over the wooden supports. In this case, the image "wraps" around the side of the supports and is stapled onto the back. This is a finished look that allows you to hang the piece without a frame. Even though a piece is gallery wrapped, you may still frame it.
Frames
We use wood frames made with Framerica™ Mouldings.
Care
Like any artwork avoid displaying it in direct sunlight. Clean with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. NEVER use water to clean your canvas. Water droplets will permanently mark the canvas.
About the Photograph
Traditional Prints
Many of our canvases are created from traditional photographic prints that our customers send to us using our custom photo mailers. A question that frequently arises is “Will I get it back? “ Absolutely. We are obsessive about taking care of our customer’s property. That being said, we strongly recommend NEVER sending us a irreplaceable photograph. Packages can and do get lost in transit and we would hate for you to lose a one of a kind image. If you have a treasured photo and no negative or copy we suggest that you have a high quality duplicate made before sending it to us.
Digital Photography
The resolution from most newer digital cameras works perfectly for our canvas product. If your camera is 3 mega pixel or higher and you've taken the photo at the highest setting you won't have a problem. If you're not sure about any of that, you can check the file size by right clicking on your image, then, click on properties, where the size will be displayed. Images that are 2 meg or higher are great. Images under 2 meg but higher than 0.7 meg are usually workable, so go ahead and upload those. JPEG or TIF files are both OK. We'll always call you if there is an issue.
Scanning Tips
You can use a flat bed scanner to scan your image at 300 dpi resolution. Save the file in RGB mode using JPEG format with the highest quality setting and lowest compression.
If you have an old photo and don't have a scanner, you can have your photo scanned into a 300 dpi JPEG digital file on a CD at selected Kinko's stores, which you can then upload to us from your PC.
